Each feature solves a specific real-world threat. Together, they form a system no other messaging app has.
GhostWire
The problem it solves: Someone picks up your phone and scrolls through your contacts or chats — even without unlocking it.
GhostWire activates a stealth layer over your entire Sync identity. When active, your contact list vanishes from any view. Chats are accessible only via a secret PIN. All communication happens via RAM-only encrypted channels — nothing is written to disk, nothing persists.
It's not just hiding data. It's making it so there's nothing to find.

Duress PIN
The problem it solves: Someone forces you to open your phone and show your messages or wallet balance.
Set a secondary secret PIN alongside your normal one. If you're ever under duress — physically coerced, threatened, or observed — enter the Duress PIN. Sync immediately presents a clean, decoy version of the app: empty chats, zero wallet balance, no sensitive contacts.
Your real account, your real funds, your real conversations: completely invisible. The person watching has no idea.

Kill Switch
The problem it solves: Your phone is stolen or seized and you can't get it back.
Designate a trusted contact inside Sync. If you lose control of your device, that contact can activate the Kill Switch on your behalf — triggering an immediate remote factory reset of your Sync account. Your messages, wallet access, contacts, and identity are wiped clean.
Activated the next time the device connects to the internet, even if the app is closed. No exceptions.

Obsidian Core
The problem it solves: Losing access to your device means losing all your chat history permanently.
The Obsidian Core creates a zero-knowledge encrypted backup of your entire chat history. "Zero-knowledge" means the backup is encrypted before it ever leaves your device — Sync's servers store encrypted data they literally cannot read. Only you hold the decryption key.
Back up your chats, restore them to a new device, and rest easy — knowing that even if someone gained access to our servers, they would see nothing meaningful.

Aegis Shield
The problem it solves: Someone screenshots your private conversations, wallet balance, or sensitive information.
Aegis Shield activates OS-level screenshot and screen recording prevention when Sync is in the foreground. Any attempt to capture your screen — by another person, by malware, or by a screen mirroring tool — is blocked at the operating system level.
What happens in Sync, stays in Sync.

Here's what "we can't read your messages" actually means in practice.
Keys on Your Device
Your encryption keys are generated and stored on your device only. Sync never holds, transmits, or stores your private keys. We could not decrypt your messages even if we wanted to.
Encrypted in Transit and at Rest
Every message, file, call, and piece of metadata is encrypted before it leaves your device. Our servers route sealed packets — we never see the contents.
No Metadata Collection
We don't log who you message, when you message, how often, or from where. There is no user profile to hand to any third party.
On-Device AI Processing
Oracle AI features — including the conversation summarizer — run entirely on your device. Your conversations never leave your phone to be processed by an AI server.
